Brother of actor Mark Ruffalo critically injured by gunshot wound
Scott Ruffalo, a 39-year-old Kenosha native and brother of actor Mark Ruffalo, was reportedly in critical condition Wednesday after being shot Monday in California.
Ruffalo, a hairstylist, was found early Monday in his Beverly Hills residence with a gunshot wound to the head, according to People Magazine.
Beverly Hills police spokesman Lt. Tony Lee would say only that “suspicious activity” had taken place at the location and time of the shooting, which was first reported by ETonline.
“We have been waiting all afternoon for news, but there’s nothing that has come through yet,” she said. “I know that a team of doctors has been taking care of Scott.”
Ruffalo’s family members in Kenosha were saddened by the incident.
“This is a tragedy,” said George Georno, a first cousin to Scott Ruffalo’s father. “It’s a terrible, terrible thing.”
Mary Ruffalo said it was a “very sad affair” and said Scott is a very happy-go-lucky person.
Georno also said Scott had a positive outlook.
“Scott is a very good and gracious individual,” Georno said. “He is a very hard-working and a very jovial person.”
Frank Ruffalo, Scott’s father who lives in Kenosha, flew out to California to be with his son, Mary Ruffalo said.
Scott was born in Kenosha before moving to California. He is married to Luzelena Ruffalo, and is stepfather to her daughter, Lucinda, according to People Magazine.
Mark Ruffalo, who has starred in movies such as “Zodiac,” “13 Going on 30” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” was also born in Kenosha before moving to Virginia at the age of 13.
