John W. Sinkule was called home to be with his Lord and family on Feb. 2, 2010.

He was born on Aug. 6, 1928, in Hillsboro, Wis. He was the son of the late John F. Sinkule and Martha V. (Wopat) Sinkule.
John graduated from Hillsboro High School.
On Sept. 7, 1953, he married Rosemary Sosinsky. He was a dairy farmer and also served on the White City district school board for 11 years. He decided to change careers and took a job for two years with Federal Crop Insurance, Department of Agriculture, as an insurance adjuster. In 1960, he was hired by American Motors Corp. and moved his family to Kenosha. He worked for AMC for 28 years, retiring in December of 1988. He served on the Union 556 board for more than 20 years.
John was devoted to his faith, his marriage, and his family. He loved his daughters but adored his grandchildren and was also truly blessed with the addition of great-grandchildren. Some of his most treasured moments were spent with Ryan and Amy, his grandchildren. He was a devoted member of St. Mark's Catholic Church for more than 50 years. His generous and giving spirit made him always available to lend a hand to his family, friends and neighbors.
John and his brothers and sisters shared a great pride in their Czechoslovakian heritage. The family attended ethnic festivals and family gatherings and John was fluent in the language. He enjoyed polka music and played the accordion at many occasions for family and friends.
Once retired, John and Rosemary became snowbirds and spent several winters in Florida. Great memories were made with friends and family. Summers in Wisconsin would find John puttering in his shed, as he enjoyed repairing lawn mowers. His 80th birthday finally brought the John Deere mower of his dreams!
John was a gentle man, as his father was before him. He loved children and his titles of Great PaPa to his great-grandchildren and Grandpa to the many children in his life, including Jamie, Alex, Chase, Casy, Tony, LuLu, Amelia and countless others.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rosemary; children, Kathryn (Brett) Zeimetz, Ann (John) Wojtkiewicz and Mary Sinkule Kennedy; grandchildren, Ryan (Renee) Wojtkiewicz and Amy (Garrett) Inglish; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Nora Wojtkiewicz; and siblings, Jim (Nancy) Sinkule, Rosemary (Francis) King. John had seven sisters-in-law with spouses, three brothers-in-law with spouses, and 50 nieces and nephews. They were all special to him, and he will be missed by many.
He leaves behind his very good friend, Duane. Their weekly long distance calls will have to be longer distance, now.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Frank (Sandy) Sinkule and two sisters, Josephine (Lloyd) Scheide and Joan (Tom) Jordan.
A funeral service for John will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 7117 14th Avenue. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation for John will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.
