Anita L. Brey, 78, of Goshen, Ind., and formerly of New Troy, Mich., died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.
Anita was born April 13, 1931, in Kenosha, Wis., to Jacob and Laura (Strifling) Mohr. She married Raymond Brey on Feb. 7, 1953.
They made their home in New Troy where they raised their family.
Raymond preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1984. Anita was a woman who loved the Lord and treasured her opportunity to visit the Holy Land. Her faith community met regularly in each other's homes.
Anita enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, cooking, and feeding the birds. She was an inspiration to others, kept a positive outlook on life, and opened her home to those in need.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Patricia) Brey of Oak Park, Ill., and Dean Brey of Hillside, Ill.; granddaughters, Kathleen and Erin; sister, Christine (David) Enter of Oshkosh, Wis.; brothers, Daniel (Gretchen) Mohr and Fred (Judy) Mohr, both of Kenosha; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Vaughn of Kenosha, Betty Mohr of Kenosha, Rich and Adrian Brey of Coloma, Mich., and Peggy Brey of Mattawan, Mich.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks, Mich. Interment will follow at New Troy Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. EST on Wednesday at the funeral home.
