David A. Stoxen
1941 - 2010

David A. Stoxen, 68, of Silver Lake, Wis., passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010.

He was born May 17, 1941, in Burlington, Wis., the son of the late Preston "Pete" and Helen (Griffiths) Stoxen and has lived all of his life in the area.

On Jan. 1, 1990, he married Nancy Wallin in Silver Lake.

Dave served in the U. S. Air Force from 1958 until 1963 and was a retired pipe fitter for over 20 years at Great Lakes Naval Base.

He was a member of the Schultz-Hahn American Legion Post #293 and a Life Member of the V. F. W. Post # 8375, both of Silver Lake. He was also a member of the Silver Lake Fire and Rescue Auxiliary.

Dave was an avid reader and Brewers and Packer Fan, but mostly he loved NASCAR Cup racing. Dave and Nancy starting going to Michigan International Raceway and have gone back for 19 years in a row and other races in five other states around the country.

Survivors include his wife Nancy; his son, David Jr. (Monica) of Greer, S. C.; a step daughter, Rhonda Nee Wallin (Ron) Lenzi of Lakewood, IL.; two sisters, Sally (Dave) Ludwig of Trevor, Wis., and Sandra (Gene) Infusino of Kenosha, Wis.; a brother, Marshall (Mary Kay) Stoxen of Silver Lake; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Michael; and a brother, Gerald.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Strang Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be in Wilmot Cemetery, Wilmot, Wis. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, with American Legion and V. F. W. services at 7 p.m. Info 800 622 4441.
