The recent Supreme Court ruling to reject limits on corporate spending in electoral campaigns deals a deadly blow to our nation. Big money will now decide who will be represented. Government of the corporation by the corporation and for the corporation is now guaranteed. Negative ads will disgrace our democracy. Individual citizens’ donations will have little effect in the election of good government. This decision is a radical change in law, and the McCain-Feingold attempt at campaign finance reform has been crippled. Wall Street, big oil, insurance and pharma industry, as well as the industrial military complex, will now be able to dominate the conversation and control Washington. Justices Roberts, Alito, Scalia, Thomas and Kennedy are the perpetrators of this injustice. It’s a sad day for the republic!
