Caring efforts made best of bad situation

Thank you to the anonymous Good Samaritan who phoned in our chimney fire before we even knew we had one. Had it not been for his (or her) keen observation and prompt attention, we very well could be homeless right now.

Thank you to the Kenosha Fire Department and their prompt response to the alarm. Thank you also to their well trained and very professional way of working while still being respectful and careful of our personal property. Had it not been for them, for sure we would be homeless right now.

A very special thank you to Battalion Chief Matthew Haerter for his help in explaining the situation that we were in, and then helping to take us to the next step.

The response to the alarm was terrific. Every piece of equipment that might have been needed was on the scene within minutes. We are so thankful that they weren’t needed.

Kenosha, just know that you are very well protected.

Our hope is that you will not hesitate to call 911 if something does not look right. Early notification helps everyone.

We are so very grateful to all who helped.
